Tensei Pearl Quality Standards

Tensei Pearl is a pearl brand that cultivates, processes and sells Akoya pearls grown on Yura Peninsula in Uwajima, Ehime.

In a rich fishing ground surrounded by the currents of the Bungo Channel and a ria coastline, we keep our cultivation volume small and raise each Akoya oyster with care.

What we care about most are "teri" (luster) and "maki" (nacre).

While many pearls are "tōnenmono", harvested after about one year, Tensei Pearl mainly produces "koshimono", raised slowly for about two years. Growing them longer in the sea makes the nacre thicker, giving pearls a deep, beautiful shine that is less likely to change over time.

We sort and process the pearls we cultivate ourselves, and, while judging the character of each pearl, make them into necklaces, pendants, rings, clip-on earrings and more.

Rather than judging only by how few natural blemishes a pearl has, we value its true beauty: luster, nacre, color, shape and overall harmony.

We also do not send our pearls to auctions or wholesale; we handle everything from cultivation to processing and sales ourselves.

"Fine things, in small numbers."

With our own hands, we deliver to you each pearl nurtured by the nature of the Uwa Sea, the skill of our producers and a long time.
