Every Tensei Pearl product comes with a certificate of warranty, so you can use it with peace of mind.

We restring our necklaces free of charge.
Please also feel free to ask us about remaking our products, adjusting necklace length and anything else.

We regularly take part in exhibitions across Japan, so if you bring your item during an exhibition, we can work on it there. If you are in a hurry or live far away, please send it to us by post.

Caring for pearls

Pearls are living things

Storing pearls for a long time with sweat on them can damage the surface, so after wearing, wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth.

If sweat or cosmetics get on them, especially in summer, soak a towel in lukewarm water, wring it out tightly and wipe the surface. Then wipe off any moisture with a soft, dry cloth.

Frequently asked questions

When should pearls be restrung?

It depends on how often you wear them, but roughly every two to three years. If the string has stretched under strong strain, we recommend restringing sooner.

Please be careful not to get pearls wet, as water can weaken the string and cause the pearls to crack.

Where should I store them?

Avoid direct sunlight and extreme dryness. If you keep them in a closet, do not store them together with insect repellents or desiccants.

Also, store them so that they do not touch harder gems such as diamonds, which can scratch them.

Can you work on products from other companies?

Yes, for a fee, but please understand that we may not be able to help depending on the condition of the item.

Is there a special polishing cloth?

There are cloths made especially for pearls, but any soft cloth that can wipe off sweat and dirt will do. A soft cloth for glasses or smartphones is fine too. However, please do not use anything containing abrasives, such as silver polishing cloths, as they can scratch the pearls.

How can I change pierced earrings into clip-on earrings?

This is possible for simple designs. Design pieces may also be possible depending on how they are made, so please feel free to ask.

I lost one earring. Can you make just one?

Yes. For design pieces, this is possible if the item has not been discontinued. Because of the nature of pearls, if a perfect color match is difficult, we will make it in a close shade.

Can you restore a pearl that has changed color?

Depending on the condition, polishing the surface may bring back some luster. But color change over the years is often caused by changes inside the nacre, so the original color cannot be fully restored.

Is there a use for a formal necklace I no longer wear?

We can remake the design for a different use. Many people remake a necklace with special memories into Buddhist prayer beads. Please feel free to ask.

Can I return or exchange an item?

If an item has an initial defect or anything you notice, please contact us or the store where you bought it. We will offer a return or an exchange for a replacement.

Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind, used items or made-to-order items.
